When children enter the nursery of the infant school, they are embarking on at least 13 years of schooling, and we attempt to make their first years in school the happiest in their lives, and set firm foundations for future learning. It is the aim of Harefield Infant School to provide a relaxed, caring and secure yet stimulating environment in which children can live and learn with enjoyment and eagerness, and which all adult personnel (teaching, non-teaching, parents, governors and other agencies) can work successfully together.
Within this environment it is hoped that the children will develop as individuals and realise their potential to the full, by provision of a wide, flexible and stimulating programme including the National Curriculum. When a child leaves the Infant School it is hoped that he/she is confident, articulate and has grasped the fundamental concepts and basic skills, developed an enquiring mind and acquired happy memories.
